The Flower Festival weekend was a fabulous success. The theme of 'Kings and Queens' sparked a lot of interest as our arrangers used not only our own Kings and Queens for inspiration, but also monarchs from the bible.
The flower arrange-ments were wonderful, showing a lot of flair and imagination. We welcomed guests and viewers on Saturday, Sunday and Monday afternoons from all over the area, some travelling quite some miles. After viewing they enjoyed tea, coffee and a wonderful selection of cakes.
The concert on the Saturday evening by the U3A Choir was very well attended and enjoyed.
The Sunday morning service was led by the Rev. Nic Langton-Miller. On the Monday evening we had a Songs of Praise half hour led by Mr. Clive Chaddock with some very lusty singing, then the closing service was led by Rev. Keith Jones. Mr. Leonard Hill played the organ at all the services.
Many generous donations were received. It was wonderful to have the church open and functioning as part of the community once more.
