Christian aid poster 2021

GENERAL

Christian Aid are particularly promoting on-line giving, e.g. through the e-envelope scheme and the JustGiving page.

If people would still prefer to collect physically, another option is Delivery-Only collections.  There are specially designed envelopes to allow people to stamp, print, label or write on envelopes to tell supporters where to drop their donation. Your drop off point could be your church, home or a local business and with delivery-only there’s no need to knock or collect and you can cover more homes.

Biddulph Area (Biddulph, New Road, Hill Top, Mow Cop)

The main source of funds is always by participating in the mass sponsored walk round Tittesworth Reservoir, near Leek.  Like last year, there will be no large communal event in 2021 but many individuals and small groups will be doing their own sponsored walks at the times and places of their choosing.  Sponsorship forms are available from the Christian Aid web site.

Monies raised should be sent by cheque payable to the North Staffordshire Christian Aid Treasurer, Glyn Bailey, 185, BASFORD PARK ROAD, NEWCASTLE, STAFFS. ST5 OPN. Tel: 01782 617009. Payment may be made by BankTransfer to the account with Lloyds Bank N/C, Churches Together in N/C Christian Aid No 2 Account, sortcode 30-95-91, account number 00068417.

As usual, Biddulph will hold a lunch with donation envelopes provided.  It will take place following a Sunday service.  In addition, as soon as it is permitted to sing congregationally they will hold a big sing event in aid of Christian Aid.  Dates to be defined.

Bosley Methodist Church

At the service on 16th May, when Mervyn Lovatt will be the preacher, Bosley have decided to have a retiring collection for Christian Aid.

Holmes Chapel Area

All the churches in Holmes Chapel have co-ordinated their efforts to support Christian Aid again this year.  The hope is that people will feel able to donate using the village's dedicated On-line Platform : https://cutt.ly/HCCAW21

For people unable or unwilling to use an on-line system, envelopes will be available in churches in the village on Sunday 9th May.  For more details, see the leaflet that has been produced for the village.

Congleton (Trinity, Wellspring, Rood Lane.... )

Individual churches will be taking their own approaches, supported by resources organised for the area.  The hope is that many people will use the Christian Aid 'e-envelope' scheme, for on-line giving.  Making a straightforward, on-line donation is also an option: see the JustGiving page on the Christian Aid web site.

For churches able to meet for worship, buckets or tins can be provided for contributions.  If people prefer, some envelopes can be provided to be placed on seats in church.

Revd Nic will be doing a Christian Aid Quiz, through Zoom, on Thursday May 13th. .
