Date: Saturday, 07 September 2019, 11:00 -  4:00
Location: National Trust Mow Cop Castle site
Activity:

Mow Cop is one of 50 places chosen by the National Trust as part of The People's Landscape Project.

'People, Protest and Politics: Methodists, Mow Cop and Social Change', is an exciting event organised by a partnership of The National Trust, Englesea Brook and The Methodist Church.

We want to celebrate the Primitive Methodist movement, which transformed the lives of working people in the 19th century, and its legacy and influence today.

The day will consist of a rolling programme of speakers, poetry from Emily Galvin, Staffordshire's poet laureate, and singing from the John Moore Quire (sic!).

Refreshments will be available at Mow Cop Methodist Church. There will also be stalls, community singing and local historians to chat to.

See also the important 'Extra Information' below.

Extra Info:

How to get there: Walking, in the Primitive Methodist tradition, from Knypersley - starting from Lifestyle Community Church, Newpool Road, ST8 6NN. Start time to be advertised nearer the day. A shuttle bus will also run regularly from this location, starting at 10.30. Limited car parking is available at Mow Cop Community Church, Close Lane. CW7 3NY. Please note that THE CASTLE CAR PARK WILL BE CLOSED, and the Methodist Church car park only available for speakers.
